The Fine Print

  • Volunteer-led, no guarantees. Shovel Brigade is a community of neighbors helping neighbors. We can't guarantee that every request will be fulfilled.
  • Free service, no payment. This is a free, volunteer service. Please do not offer or accept payment.
  • Outdoor areas only. Volunteers shovel driveways, sidewalks, and walkways. Please do not invite volunteers inside, and volunteers should not enter anyone's home.
  • Snow removal only. Shovel Brigade is for snow removal only — no other tasks.
  • Participate at your own risk. By using Shovel Brigade, all parties acknowledge they do so at their own risk. We are a coordination platform, not a service provider.
  • No background checks. We do not perform background checks on volunteers or requesters. We encourage both parties to communicate and use their own judgment.
  • 24-hour commitment. Volunteers: please only claim a request if you can complete it within 24 hours.
  • Not your only option. This service is not intended to be your sole plan for snow removal.
